I live at home with my Dad and he drinks 8 cans of cider every night watching tv. He never seems drunk but I'm really worried about him. He used to drink 4 but has steadily increased. What do I say to him, it's his life and the only pleasure he ever gets?

Hi John Im sorry your worried about your dad- it sounds like he might be getting out control. 8 cans is well over the limit of units, if there anyone who could talk to him- he may not even realise how destructive this can be.

He's not the easiest person to talk to, it's hard enough to get a conversation out of him. I couldn't exactly cut through the silence and say 'do you think you're drinking too much' he'd just get angry if I did and say mind your own bl@@dy business. He's hard to get up in the morning too.
